Nasdaq appoints Sjöberg as President of Nasdaq Clearing
14 July 2025 Sweden

Nasdaq has appointed Christian Sjöberg as president of Nasdaq Clearing, with an expanded role as head of post-trade strategy in Europe.
Sjöberg will transfer to the Stockholm office, where he will lead the firm’s central counterparty (CCP) operations.
He will report to Roland Chai, president of European Market Services at Nasdaq.
Bringing over two decades of international experience in post-trade infrastructure, clearing, and financial market operations, Sjöberg has held a number of senior leadership positions across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Prior to Nasdaq, Sjöberg held senior roles at major market infrastructure organisations including the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (HKEX), SIX x-clear, and Oslo Clearing.
He joined Nasdaq in 2022 as the head of business development and portfolio strategy for post-trade, and was most recently a part of the FinTech Product Strategy and Development team.
Chai comments: “Christian brings extensive experience in financial infrastructure and risk management, and his leadership will be instrumental in advancing Nasdaq Clearing’s strategic goals and operational excellence.
“The expanded focus on post-trade is critical as we continue to enhance the resilience and efficiency of our infrastructure, support regulatory developments, and meet the evolving needs of market participants across the Nordic and Baltic regions.â€
Following approval from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (SFSA), Sjöberg will assume his new role on 1 September 2025.
